Thea designs your site from scratch and Patrick builds it. We don’t start from a template and swap in your names.
How it works
From hello to live site
- You sign a short contract and fill out our onboarding form. It asks about your wedding, your story, and what you want on the site, and you can upload anything that inspires you.
- Thea starts designing. We go back and forth with you by email, text, or a call, whatever works for you, until it’s right.
- Patrick builds it and puts it online.

Questions
Things couples ask us
- Are these template sites?
- No. Thea designs every site from scratch. The behind-the-scenes parts, like hosting and setup, are the same from site to site, and that's how we keep the price down. Everything your guests see is made for you. If you love one of our earlier designs, tell us and we can start there.
- Why did you start doing this?
- We built our own wedding site and learned where the snags are. Templates were too limited for what we wanted, and a custom designer costs more than most couples want to spend. We wanted to offer something in between.
- Who do you work with?
- Mostly couples in the Utah and Salt Lake Valley area, since that's our community. If you're somewhere else, email us anyway. Patea is a side project for both of us, so we can't take every project.
- Can we use our own domain?
- Yes. Standard and Premium come with a domain registered in your name, so it stays yours even if we stop working together. Basic uses a subdomain on pateastudio.com.
- What's included in every package?
- Custom design and development, a registry, and a year of hosting. Standard and Premium also have RSVPs and a dashboard where you can update registry links, photos, and text yourselves.
- How long does a site take?
- Usually 2 to 3 weeks. Send us your wedding date when you write and we'll tell you if that works.
- What happens after the first year?
- Hosting is included for the first year. We're still working out what renewal and exporting your site look like after that, and we'll go through it with you before you sign.
