Hi, we’re Patrick and Thea

We met at BYU. Our first date was sidewalk chalk. We drew, and we taught each other physics, calculus, and economics on the pavement. We got married in April 2026.

Patrick studied applied and computational math and economics, and he writes software for a living now. He also plays piano for anyone who will have him, and has accompanied choirs, singers, an opera ensemble, and a ballet class. He plays trombone too. Outside, he hikes, mountain bikes, and runs with Thea.

Thea is finishing a degree in physics and astronomy at BYU. She loves weather, clouds most of all, and she takes pictures of everything. This summer she worked in a lab on a cloud chamber, and she plans to go to grad school for atmospheric science. She also draws stickers and characters, and she designs everything we make.

We didn’t plan to build our own wedding site. Patrick thought it might be neat, but we figured it wouldn’t be worth the time. Then he took the invitation Thea designed, with an astronomy theme, and tried turning it into a website. It worked, after a few snags. We were proud of it, and it was a good way to invite people. We wanted other couples to skip the snags.

By then Thea was doing more design work and Patrick was shipping more iOS apps and sites for family and friends. After our first summer married, we decided to put it all under one name. The name is Patrick plus Thea. Friends kept making up couple names for us while we were dating, and this was the one we liked best.

Patea is a side project for both of us. It isn’t our main job and probably never will be. We keep it going because we like using what we’re good at to help people. A lot of couples in the Utah and Salt Lake Valley area are young, married on a student budget, and not looking to pay for a fancy designer. We were those people, so that’s who we build for first.
